its commitment to social development in the fields of Education, Healthcare, Science,
Culture, Heritage and Sports.

and organizations, to join them in their endeavour to provide the much-needed impetus
to a few globally relevant development issues.

Community Service
A simple philosophy of life that was being practiced for over three decades, in
a little town in the south - west of India, Manipal. This was at a time when private
enterprise was intent on creating wealth and a name for itself. Dr. TMA. Pai, the
founder and the philanthropic spirit behind the Manipal Group, channelized his energies
to create wealth of a different kind - in the form of knowledge, health and social
development.
Manipal has been involved with healing and caring since the time of its inception.
And community service was one of the pillars on which Manipal was built.
Over the years, it has built hospitals and healthcare facilities,
providing hope and inspiration to thousands of people.
Manipal Foundation was founded in 2002 to complement the efforts of the Group policy of social initiatives. Manipal hospitals never turn away a patient for want of
money. There are many occasions when the regular concessions offered by hospitals are not enough to take the patient through the treatment process. During such
times the Foundation comes forward and supports the patients in meeting the treatment costs.
Manipal Foundation has now entered into education and employment generation
activities
